UNION CABINET APPROVES BUDGET FOR GAGANYAAN PROJECT

The Union Cabinet has approved a budget of Rs 10,000 crore for India Gaganyaan project. The allocation of the budget comes after the announcement of Prime Minister that, an Indian would travel to space in an Indian spacecraft by 2022 in his 2018 Independence Day speech.

India is the fourth country to do so

India will be the fourth country in the world to do so. So far, America, Russia and China have succeeded in sending their manned ships to space. So far, three Indians have gone in space. In 1984, Rakesh Sharma went to space with the help of Soviet Russia. Apart from this, India's Kalpuna Chawla and Sunita William have also illuminated the name of India in this area.
