The Central Government appointed Dr  Krishnamurthy Subramanian as the new Chief Economic Advisor. Dr Subramanian  will have a tenure of three years. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has cleared his name.

Krishnamurthy Subramaniam:

• Krishnamurti Subramaniam is one of the world's leading experts in banking, corporate governance and economic policy.
• Subramanyan is an Associate Professor in Indian School of Business and is an Executive Director of the Center for Analytical Finance.
• Krishnamurthy Subramanian is a PhD from Chicago Booth and has been a student of IIT and IIM.

Chief Economic Advisor:

• He works under the Ministry of Finance.
