What is RRB ALP Stage - III (Psychological) Exam

RRB ALP Stage – III Exam, also known as Computer Based Aptitude Test or Psychological Test will be conducted by Railway Recruitment Board on 16th April 2019. With just 7 days left for the exam, it is time to gear up your preparation.

ALP Stage – II result was announced few days back and candidates equal to 8-times the vacancy for each category have been shortlisted for ALP Stage – III Aptitude test. With high level of competition around, it is important to know what exactly comes in the paper and important pointers to keep in mind for getting a high score.

Computer Based Aptitude Test is only for the candidates who have applied for Assistant Loco Pilot.

It has been designed to choose candidates suitable for a particular kind of job by testing him for traits and abilities required for a specific job profile.

Question Types in RRB ALP Stage – III Exam

The Psychological Test/ ALP Stage III Computer Aptitude Test consists of the following segments:

  1. Memory Test
  2. Depth Perception Test
  3. Concentration Test
  4. Perceptual Speed Test
  5. Following Direction Test

There will be ‘No Negative Marking’ in the Aptitude Test.

It is necessary to qualify in the Aptitude Test and a candidate needs to score minimum of 42 marks in each batteries to qualify.

 

Important Tips for ALP Psychological Test

  1. Sleep well on the night before the Exam. A good sleep will help you relaxed during the exam and will let you take the exam with 100% focus.
  2. Reach the Exam center well on time so that there is no hustle or unnecessary last minute anxiety.
  3. Listen carefully to the instructions given to you at the exam center and do exactly as you are told. If you have any doubts, don’t be afraid to ask. It is better to ask and get your doubt clarified before the exam than remain in doubt and miss on a few marks.
  4. Read the question properly and think carefully before answering as this would help you mark the right answer in the first go itself.
  5. Be quick and accurate in answering as most of the test have a shorter time limit.
  6. Don’t sit thinking and waste time on difficult questions. It is better to answer those questions quickly which are easy and you are sure of.
  7. Try to answer as many questions right as you can, as this will help you get a higher score.
  8. Focus on your own paper and so not try to sneak in someone else’s paper as he may not be right or may have a different set of questions.

Overall, the test is easy and requires one to concentrate while attempting.
