The Union government on September 12 rolled out a helpline for users of India Post to register complaints about postal services. The toll-free number is ‘1924’. Communications Minister Manoj Sinha said the complaints would be addressed within 24 hours of registration, except in the case of policy decisions. The helpline will be operational 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. initially on working days. The complaints will be registered on a customer centre portal and an 11-digit ticket number would be issued. Complainants can view the status of the complaint on the portal. “The service has been started in Hindi, English and Malayalam and gradually, we will start it in all regional languages,” the Minister said.
